The Martin Gallier Project
Suicide Prevention & Men's Mental Health
The Martin Gallier Project is a pioneering, first-of-its-kind suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention charity based in the North West of England. They are fiercely dedicated to preventing suicide, breaking down stigma, and supporting families through crisis — with no barriers to access, no waiting lists, and no criteria.
Their motto says it all: “If it's between life and death, let's talk about the third option.”
The project offers drop-in support, one-to-one crisis intervention, and postvention services for families bereaved by suicide. They are open 7 days a week, 9.30am–4.30pm, and operate on a simple principle: no one facing suicidal crisis should face it alone.
Why this charity matters to us personally
Sam lost her brother to suicide. That loss changed everything. When we discovered The Martin Gallier Project and the incredible work they do creating safe spaces for people in crisis, we knew we had to be part of it. We've supported their site in Chester by funding and decorating a room — a physical space where people can come in, sit down, and talk to someone who cares. No judgement. No forms. Just human connection when it matters most.

The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK
Supporting People with EDS & HSD
The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of inherited connective tissue disorders that affect collagen throughout the body — causing joint hypermobility, chronic pain, extreme fatigue, fragile skin, and a wide range of often invisible symptoms that can impact every aspect of daily life.
The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting anyone touched by EDS and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD). They provide medical information, run support groups across the UK, campaign for better NHS services, fund research, and work tirelessly to ensure people with EDS are diagnosed earlier, treated better, and never left to fight alone.
Why this charity matters to us personally
Both Gary and Sam live with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Gary's journey with EDS — including a series of spinal surgeries that changed the course of his life — is part of the reason CanDo Payments exists. Sam also lives with the condition daily. They understand first-hand what it means to deal with chronic pain, exhaustion, and a condition that most people have never heard of. Supporting EDS UK isn't just charity — it's personal advocacy for better understanding, better diagnosis, and better care.
